not being a "public figure" Ms. Sherrod should sue Breightbart (and maybe even Fox) for intentional interference of her employment contract and/or defamation

Norm was great talking about the estate tax with John Feehery on Wednesday. I hope he can come on more often. He insists on getting his time and two cents in. I like his assertiveness. Of course, John Feehery IS a Big Pussycat, though. For a GOP, he's the least worst. Let's have Norm versus the effeminate African American pundit with the glasses - I forget his name....

Ed,
Please continue to do the great job you're doing to bring on a number of commentators with intimate knowledge or opinions of the topics you choose to discuss and not allow anyone to "come on more often". You, Ed, run the show, not your guests or bloggers and I love it! Ask Dylan Ratigan about how much time a guest commentator should get on HIS show - his answer will be "as much or as little as I allow them to have". Someone who is probably as big as a Greek mountain has no place calling anyone effeminate! Ron Christie appears as manly as any other male figure you interview.

About the Sherrod issue: Ms. Sherrod's case is one that just happened to be publicized. There are thousands of African-Americans who have been forced out of government jobs (to either resign or retire) for many reasons connected with white racism. No one has investigated those cases. President Obama should set up a commission to investigate all adverse actions against African Americans that have lost government jobs (i.e., forced to resign or retire) in the last 7 years. Open up the Merit System Protection Board files. However, Ed, I fear he won't because it certainly appears that when it comes to racial matters, the Obama administration is more spineless than any jellyfish you can imagine. I guess it has to become personal before he will act … and it may.

All the media is scared of fox last night on the national news ,on all 3 networks, they blamed the President for over reacting but they never mentioned the fact this story was made up by the fox lie machine. Thank god we've got Ed to tell the truth or we might never know the real news. Now the "fake progressives" flood the blogs with the lie that the President is spineless to dishearten progressives. President Obama has been a tireless fighter for the working and middle class. The President can't waste his time responding to every lie they crank out. Beware the fake progressives they are the enemy within.

None of the media is scared of Fox at any time and I never heard any of them blaming the President for overreacting. All 4 mentioned the fact that this story was made up by the Fox lie machine.

A serious lack of understanding of progressives is revealed by those who think there are "fake progressives". It's funny! They don't realize that you can't be a fake progressive; you'll eventually be forced to make a choice between acting progressively or supporting republican't and tea party positions. Acting against the progressive position or not acting at all will "out" you.

Furthermore, when the President does not act in favor of progressives (those who elected him and still support him to some degree), they flood the blogs with the contention that he is spineless not to dishearten others but to encourage them to consider what he's NOT doing and to think of finding a true progressive in November 2012.

Consider that he did not fight forcefully for the public option in healthcare - a central progressive position, that the financial reform bill does not prevent "too big to fail"- another salacious progressive expectation, that he did not support Arkansas' Bill Halter - truly craved by progressives … and there's much, much more.

He has been a tireless fighter trying to get republican'ts to join him in governing, which true progressives know is futile; that's why they gave the Democrats the majority in ‘06 and ‘08.

If the President or those in his administration "can't waste his time responding to every lie they crank out", why did they react to the one about Ms. Sherrod?, to the lies about ACORN?, to the lies about Van Jones?, to the heat and lies about Jeremiah Wright?, Bill Ayres? …, the list goes on and on. They ARE RESPONDING to "every lie they crank out". Beware of those claiming there are fake progressives; they are the true enemies wherever they are.

I am SOOOO tired of folks whining about Obama this, Obama that.. If you want a public option, VOTE in the congress that is going to give it to you... PERIOD!! Obama is only one-third of the government, y'all.. and we handicapped him with a senate that is broken.. here is you chance to fix it.. get out, get active, get agitated about electing TRUE progressives into an effective legislature.. then see what happens. You cannot quit before the fight is over, so shut up with the whining already when you get punched.. that's politics. It takes more than one, two or maybe even three elections to get it done... are you with me??

Hey Ed,

Here's something you can use: ever since Newtie (Gingrich) has been in the news, he has always reminded, and still does remind me, of the man in the white waistcoat from 'Oliver Twist'--the one who, on learning poor Oliver had the nerve to ask for another bowl of thin gruel, said Oliver would SURELY be hanged, drawn and quartered! You could also liken either Glenn or Rush (probably Rush) to Mr. Bumble and Sarah to Mrs. Bumble.

"VOTE in the congress that is going to give it to you..."???!!!

OK, let's start with the 8th District (John Boehner), minority leader, who if elected to House Speaker vows to repeal healthcare reform!

How about Patrick Tiberi of the 12th district, which includes part of Columbus, who joined in signing a letter to get the CMS to dispute the savings in healthcare!

While you were NOT WHINING, the people around you voted in these psycho-talkers!! Let's clean up at home before you begin encouraging others!!! and give Dennis Kucinich and Mary Jo Kilroy more help by "VOTING IN the congress that is going to give it to US", starting with you.

We need to stop wasting time being fooled by Fox and the rest of the far right. We must pass immigration reform, energy reform, reinstate the estate tax, roll back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, boost small businesses for more jobs and energize the Progressive base for victory in November now!
