Recession Busters Frequently Asked Questions
What is an ad view?

An ad view is one person seeing your ad. It's also sometimes called an impression. So if you sign up for 5,000 ad views, that means your ad will be viewed 5,000 times.

What is a click-through?

A click-through is when someone clicks on your ad for more information. It's the online equivalent of an ad drawing someone into your store or office. When you upload your ad, you can set the landing page for your click-throughs.

What's a landing page?

It's the page that the users who click on your ad will land on. It can be any page on your site. We recommend that you select landing pages with care. It's common to use your site's home page, and that may be appropriate. But if your ad is about a specific item you're selling, it may be more effective to use that item's page on your website for the landing page.

Can I use different landing pages for different ads?

Yes. For each graphical ad and each text ad, you can specify the landing page that will be most effective for the ad's message.

Graphical ads are supposed to be 125 x 125 pixels. What does that mean?

All online graphical elements are composed of tiny dots called pixels. In the graphics program that you use to create your ad, you can set the size in pixels. Using this measurement ensures that your ad will be the right size to display properly.

What formats can I use?

Graphical ads must be in one of two formats: GIF or JPEG. The extension for the GIF format is always .gif. The extension for the JPEG format may be .jpg or jpeg.

What happens if I get more views than I've signed up for? Will I be charged more?

No, you just get the bonus views for free. You will never be charged for more than you sign up for. If you sign up for $40 for 10,000 views, you will be charged exactly $40, even if you get hundreds or even thousands of bonus views.

How much traffic does the site get?

Each month we are getting about 10 to 14 million hits, 750,000 to 1 million page views and 330,000+ different people visiting the site. The great thing about WeGotEd is that, unlike many other sites, its visitors are active and involved. Many of them have free or paid site memberships. That means they're more engaged in the site and receptive to its content, including ads.

How often will my ad appear?

Your ad will appear in rotation with others on the site, so the frequency of its appearance will depend on how many other ads are running at the time. This rotation stretches your ad views out over a longer time period and attracts more attention as the changing ads draw the eye to the ad space.

Can I monitor the results of my ads?

Yes. Log in to the site and go to the recession buster area. You'll see your ads listed there, along with reports that show you how many views they've received, how many click-throughs, and how many ad views are remaining in your order. You can also add more ad views to any ad that you would like to keep running longer.
